Achiness

You have no idea how much I want to write something peppy, or funny, or uplifting today! My eyes are swollen, my back aches, and I feel miserable.

Mom is sleeping a lot. Yesterday she was able to take a bubble bath, but was in too much pain to enjoy it. They will try again today, and give her pain meds right before they wheel her to the bath room. The special bath wheelchair that they lower into the bath is very cool!

Last night all four of us kids and my dad just hung out with Mom, along with my sister’s husband. (Ed was at my parents’ house with our sleeping girls.) The nurse came in and took a picture of us all. Hospice is so wonderful. But we really wish we didn’t need it right now.

It’s going to be a long time before life gets back to normal.

  1. My prayers are with you and your family. Hospice is wonderful, we had them with my uncle and I could not believe their dedication. I am so sorry too that you have to use them. Take care & God bless. (HUGS)

  2. My brother volunteers for a hospice near him. It's a hard thing for him to do, but it gives the family time to rest and he's glad to be there. I pray you will all find comfort in this time and be able to spend each precious moment together possible. I wish I could be there to hug you.

  3. I'm new here, Lisa @ Boondock Ramblings sent me your way. I just want to give you some (((HUGS))) We were in this situation a year ago with my Grandmother, and I remember just how hard it was. How nice that they are trying to help her to enjoy a bubble bath! I hope giving the pain meds in advance really does help.

  6. Hospice is amazing, they were there for us when my Grandma was sick. Here's hoping today is a good one and that your mom gets to enjoy that bubble bath.I'm glad you and your siblings are all able to be there with her.
