Summer Memories

Yesterday was the summer solstice; the first day of summer! This week for The Spin Cycle, I thought it would be fun to share some summer memories. What was summer like when you were little? Did you play outside all day until the street lights came on? Did you go with your family on a summer vacation? Did you have a favorite summer hang-out?

Write about a summer memory and link up here! I’ll share my summer memories on Friday.

  1. Fun prompt. I remember hot days and warm nights. Catching fireflys and drinking Kool-Aid. Running barefoot through the cool grass. Turning my shirt into a halter top by stuffing the bottom front hem through the neckline and pulling! I remember walking to the White Hen to get candy and slushies. I remember kiddie pools and sprinklers and sparklers and cap guns. And metal roller skates that took a key and made a “kisch, kisch” sound when you skated on the side walk. I wonder what kind of memories my kids will have??
